What you guys think? I couldnt do it 100% vertical or horizontal do it to space in my sump
Area. So I went half both ways. I already connected my carbon reactor and its working fine. I had to do it quickly so the temperature dont go to cold. UV, And GFO next.

Here's another example. I used the gate valves for each manifold for flow control. Additionally, and because I happen to have an extra, I put a ball valve before the manifolds outlets (upper right part of the picture - you can't actually see the handle, but it's there) so I can shut that down, and remove the entire manifold for changes/maintenance/whatever.

As to your flow question, it really depends on the flow requirements of the various items running off the manifold, as well as the flow you want going back through the tank. Your Waveline 6000 may or may not be sufficient depending on these factors. I actually use a Waveline DC12000 as the return on my 120g, but I'm also feeding a chiller off the manifold. You'll just have to do the math based on what your plans are.

Those are my thoughts anyway!

I end it up using the ball valves, No one here suply those, unless I buy online. Im gonna have to buy another return pump. My DC6000 will not to do it, Im thinking about the DC10000, intead of the 12000. I think the 12k will be too much.

Ball valves will be fine, as others have said. In my opinion, and assuming you're buying new, I think the price difference is on about $40 to go up to the 12000. As you know, you can adjust flow and for the small difference, the larger pump will give you some flexibility down the road. But it's easy for me to spend your money, so take it for what it's worth!

Thank you. Im gonna order the 12000 now.

I would go with the 12K, you can always adjust down but it's hard to add more. At little more now or allot more later and there will always be a later:)

Waoooooo. I have almost this same setup...The only thing that I put the manifold outputs more higher toward the bottom of the tank so it doesn't interphere with the Skimmer in the sump.

Im happy with What I did it. It was no leaking, and its working fine. I wish I had done this when I was blumbing at first time. Doing this after 5 months of running the tank not really a smart move lol.

Let me see if I can post a pic tomorrow for reference but I made 3 different independent sections with unions just in case something happens I only remove that section and fix it. Sections are Manifold, Chiller and the Sea Swirl. I made mine in 1"PVC and all the outputs reduced to 3/4".

It looks really good and if it supplies your needs, then it's perfect;)

Thanks. Little tip for anyone building a manifold etc. Use the clear PVC cleaner and not the purple stuff for a much cleaner looking build. That clear cleaner will also wipe all the printed markings off the pvc.

Here is the pic of the one I made before gluing all together.

Are there any pluses or minuses of either of these configurations?

1) output of return pump goes into bottom of a tee, top of tee continues to the tank return nozzle, "middle" of tee goes to a chain of tees, middle of each tee gives you a gate valve which then connects to a reactor. End of chain is closed off with a cap or a gate valve shut off.

2) output of return pump goes directly to a chain of tees like above but the end of the chain then goes to the tank return nozzle.

I wasn't sure if #1 would adequately feed flow to the reactor chain or not? Would water just blast out to the tank output if that has the least resistance?

Thanks
