Ya I was fortunate to travel a short distance so I was able to keep my live rock live. The movers did also damage the legs here. I did what I could to reinstall some that fell off. However, I was not able to get the tank perfectly level which scares the living daylights out of me. Really constantly monitoring though everyday. Don’t want another busted seam. Not fun.

It's a shame that they damaged it. Hopefully you have no issues with it. Look forward to seeing more updates.
I'd love a large tank like this myself so seeing threads like this gives inspiration!
Can't wait to get something bigger than I have at some point :)

Look at the difference when people are gone in my home. My family and I left for the weekend and my pH hit a new high of 8.41. There’s no one home breathing out carbon dioxide.

I also started dosing my kalk consumption overnight. That’s helping keep my above 8.0 at all times.

Yeah, all those mouth breathers will really put damper on your pH.

Surprises me to see how long the tentacles on the galaxea can get.

Also, I took this picture of my spaghetti keepers acro with all lights off. There was only the ambient light from our porch providing any light inside the living room. I was surprised to notice that in darkness, the picture seemed to really capture the beautiful pastel colors of the acro. Yes it is more green with lights on but the cream and purple look very realistic in this picture. I think I’m really going to like this one when it’s fully grown in.

Well thanks for stopping by. I missed my December video update. December is just too busy. I'll be sure to add one soon.
I will say that in all my years reef keeping, I had never had an issue with an emperor angelfish going for coral . . . . until now. Now to catch that bugger and rehome it. Such a dang shame too. It's my favorite fish.

Ok I really have to get some pictures or a video update. We've got some growth. For now, let's do a written update.

Fish additions: I've recently added 3 scopas tangs and a yellow belly blue hippo. I purchased these guys quarantined from Dr. Reef's Quarantined Fish. I also purchased a blue throat trigger, emperor angel, and orange shoulder tang from a different source back in November. I put them through quarantine at home using Jay Hemdal's writeup. They were released into the main display on December 23rd.
The fish I placed through quarantine are doing amazing. This was my 6th emperor so far in 10 years and it was the only one who ever nipped at anything. Sadly, this morning I realize that I may have wrongfully accused it. More to come on that. The yellow belly hippo sadly was in bad shape when he came in. Sure enough, UPS screwed up a "pickup at hub" order and delivered it to a completely erroneous address. How do you mess up an shipment that is to be a pickup? Sigh. Alas, I received it a day late and the blue hippo swam under a rock. It has not wanted to come out from under there. I've thought it to be dead numerous times. It's been six days now. I tried pulling it out with some tongs and the darn fish attacked the tongs before going back under the rock. I wish it would start swimming around or eating. It just wants to stay wedged. If the flow pushes it out, it will make sure to scoot farther inside.

Fish losses: None!!! Well, kind of. I traded my emperor angel in at the LFS. I watched it as it seemed to be pecking at the SPS. I was a bit weary as to whether it was going for algae or the polyps because I have two delicious clams for it to pick on. I thought for sure clams were higher on the menu than SPS. It also left alone the LPS. But as I inspected with lights out, I could visually see where there was missing polyps. I could also see what seemed to be bite marks. The bite marks were large. Much larger than what you see with AEFW. I figured it was the angel, especially since I source all my coral from Sunny Side corals who does not have any pest in the tanks. They are local and I visit them very often. So I got rid of the angel and wouldn't you know, that exact same day, guess what I found. I saw a darn gorilla crab in my rock. That bugger came on my Tampa Bay rock I ordered last year. I had already caught one before and disposed of it. I woke up and shined a light in at 5 am. Sure enough, it was munching on my forest fire digi. After attempting to remove it with forceps, I moved to plan B. I removed the entire structure with the crab in it. I accidently fragged my forest fire digi in doing so :( The gorilla crab had wedged itself so tightly into a deep nook that I had no option. I super glued over it. Bummer. I was going to toss it in the sump. Hopefully it doesn't rise from the dead to continue its torture. It definitely caused some irritation to the TSA twisted sisters and the Tyree Pinkee the bear. They didn't want to fully extend their polyps like they had been doing before. I bet they make a full recovery. Just can't help but think that my emperor angel was perfectly fine. Darn.

I continue accumulating a few new corals. I think I will slow down here soon and allow things to grow out. I love seeing how alive things are in the tank. Fish are nice and healthy. Everyone kind of has its own territory. Parameters are in check. Trident was replaced with a new one from Neptune under warranty. Ph is stable. The wifey has been extremely supportive with it all. She is also wanting her own tank soon. No complaints.

I'm going to be adding some sand soon. I like that I can crank up the flow and not have issues with bare spots but I miss the sand look. I need the sand look.

A few top down shots:

Welp, typical Manny fashion. I said top down shots and the first pic is not top down. Anyhow, this first is trinity acropora from Sunny Side Corals.

Man it’s been a while since I’ve given an update. Life is busy for sure. Here’s a quick snip of something new happening with my tank. Overall, things are still going great. Coral are growing steadily.

I’m much overdue for an update. And boy have I updated some things in the reef tank.

Lights: I added and suspended the T5s. I had a buddy of mine help with it. My ceilings are angled and this turned into a 3 man task. I don’t think I’ll make any more changes to the lights as I have all I need. I’m now running 3 radion xr30s pro, 2 kessil a360x, and the aquatic life T5 hybrid.

Flow: I got a killer deal on a vortech MP60 I couldn’t pass up. It’s been running for about a week. Really liking the vortech pump this time around. Might have to replace the gyres with them because they are driving me crazy.

Aquascape: my wife setup a 60 gallon cube and she took my right pillar to help with the cycle. I ordered myself a large table rock.

Corals: I’ve added plenty of frags. I’ll have to document a list of them.

Fish: I’ve got a trio of scopas tangs, a sailfin tang, 4 lyretail anthias, and a chalk basket. All doing very well. One anthias is transforming.

Here are a few not very good shots.

I'm getting more and more paranoid about the seam failures. With a local Idaho reefer tearing down his tank recently based on the seam failure, it just hits close to home. This 750 is a replacement for a seam failure on a 300 I owned. I feel like I need to act before something happens. Do you all think that eurobracing the tank now would actually provide structural integrity? Or would it had to have been designed with the eurobrace in mind?
