Its the best one you can buy. If you have a nice home you want something that looks good in it, RS is the one. Name one better? What do you have?

Wet blanket LOL. That's funny.

Congratulations on your new tank. Read you entire thread so far. Glad you got it figured out. Red Sea builds an awesome tank. Following
Thank you so much for the kind words. How ironic. I was at the hospital with my wife (thought she was going into labor) and I read your entire thread today as well.

Ha! I think just reading this thread is an example.

Ha! I think just reading this thread is an example.
I think at a minimum it speaks to two things: 1) the difficulty in producing a high quality item, and 2) a possible quality control oversight from RS.
either way, I am in love with my living room. I love the way it’s turned out. Despite the setbacks, I finally got it running.
You’ve got some good insight. You remind me (ironically) of some military leaders I met during my time active duty. Something about “we don’t sugar coat anything sailor, no matter how difficult.” Glad to have you participate in my build thread.

Scored a nice deal yesterday. It’s still puffing back up.

This hammer was labeled a Micronesian Torch LPS at Petco. No, I don’t normally go to Petco nor do I like doing business with them. But, the pregnant wife wanted to stop by and look at a turtle.

Anyhow, I spoke to an associate and asked what the price on the coral was. He pointed at the torch price of $80. I stated that the coral was a hammer coral, not a torch. I’m sure it was probably meant to say “Micronesian Hammer.” Anyhow, he didn’t see a price tag for it so he labeled it as Misc. LPS and gave it to me for $40. Score!! Two head wall hammer. Can’t complain.

Will post again when it opens back up completely.

On a brighter note, the tank will arrive today. I contacted Red Sea directly and they were able to provide me with tracking info. They shipped last Thursday using RL carriers. Tank is scheduled to arrive today.
I had a cracked panel on my 3xl900 and I called Red Sea directly and had a new tank on my floor in 48 hours no joke. I’m super surprised it took that long for you

I think part of it had to do with the distributor not RS directly. The ball really got moving when I contacted RS.
Red Sea is also right down the road from you

Man that sucks to hear about the ATK. I was really intrigued by it but didn't purchased because I already had the Tunze Osmolator. So what I did was connect my osmolator pump to the float valve in the return chamber. I placed my sensors below the float so the osmolator will act as the primary ATO but in case it is ever stuck on, then the float valve will/should prevent the water from overflowing. Since it's fresh water being pushed through the float valve, I don't think salt creep should be an issue.

The icecap 4k are rated for smaller glass than the maxspect. I looked at those as well. The Red Sea gyres are rated for up to 3/4" as well as the maxspect. I agree that if one of mine grips and the other doesn't, it's an issue with the individual magnets, not the design. I think I'm going to ask coralvue to replace the pump since the magnet that appears to be defective is attached to the pump.

As for the flipper max, ya total let down. The thing was a beast on my 300 gallon. Wish it worked here.
The Tunze strong + is what I use on my redsea 750.

All is going well. Got some fish in here. Picked up my clowns from my buddy’s house. He is still watching over my fish from the crash. Going to continue waiting before bringing the tang gang over.

Hammer coral is doing well. Puffs up spectacularly during the day. Placed an order for some tester coral to see how things fall in line. They arrived yesterday

I setup my trident last night. Setting up the DOS today. Will be just monitoring for now.
