Looks very nice [emoji106], did u convert both T5 banks into a single power cord?

I did yes, both banks are fed from one cord I ran the connection at one side, by drilling holes through the fixture and passing the electrical cord through and using the wire strain plugs to secure it. And then up through the top and out. It looks like it was meant to be this way. I’m toying with the idea of building my own fixture in the up coming year. Something less table top looking and will hold 4 t5’s and two kessils.

The attached images u can see how I ran the paralleling power cord.

So I thought I’d add some more mangrove reef tank images that I found pretty interesting . As well as a video by : Isidro Flores, the exact same tank dimensions as mine. Pretty inspiring stuff.

Also a R2R video on Matt Schmidt's beautiful 80 gallon peninsula tank.

Wow MapleReef , that looks amazing [emoji6], did you cut and strip the two power cords and join them into one or do you have a adapter for the two plugs hidden in the fixture ? Just wondering cuz it looks really really nice. As well I just got my confirmation from VCA for my two 3/4in Random flow generators ;) looking so forward to outing them into my 75g .

So what I did in short is:

1: Remove the reflectors on both fixtures and remove the power cords.
2: To hide the power cord holes I flipped over the joining bracket.
3: I drilled two holes with a step drill. The used a section of one of the original power cords to run power from the front fixture to the ballast of the rear fixture.
4: Drilled a hole up the top of the right hand fixture and installed a anti strain grommet. 5: Connect all the wiring and installed a new 20amp plug.
6: secure all your wiring and re install your reflectors.
7: crack open a beer...

Very nicely done MapleReef , the single cord looks very nice I️ must say! Makes me really consider doing the same option for my tank. But I️ am still really thinking of going in the wall behind my fixture to hide all the cables. The Nano looks very nice I️ must say ! Keep up the amazingly awesome work MapleReef!

I do try hahaha I'm glad you enjoyed it! I just couldn't not comment on the cans in the led slots haha
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice the cans ! Haha

So I grabbed some old t5 bulbs to test out the AquaticLife fixture. Pretty impressed.

I think I’m gonna go four blue plus bulbs, and use the kessils to balance the white out! Also picked up some coral frags that I have baking in my NANO.

Bonsai
Red planet x2
Forest fire
And some un-named frog spawn

And two mangroves :)

Please excuse the way the meateor shower and JF berserko look. I had a tank issue a week back and I’m hoping they bounce back

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
