Marcos Maricultured Rock - My Experience

I got an early father's day present, some of Marco's maricultured rock. I got the 5-6 lbs. package, $129 including shipping isn't a bad price point. I was looking for a little biodiversity.

The package arrived today, it was well packed.


The outer lawyer was two think bags. There was no leakage in the box. Open the outer bags up, there was another inner bag which had bubble wrap around it.

I received two rocks, which were bigger than I expected. They were wrapped in moist towels with water in the bottom. There was a cool pack as well. I got them unwrapped, and rinsed them with a couple of cups of tank water. The only smell was the faint smell of ocean.



There was tons of pink and red coralline. A few sponges, a few strands of macro algae, and a few things I haven't yet identified.

I think this is a great purchase to add a little diversity delivered to your door. If traveling to air cargo is a haul for you like it is for me, you might want to consider it.

I'm excited to see what I discover.

Nice looking ocean rock! I ordered 20lbs and 2 large pieces and a smaller almost baseball size rock arrived. Same clean smell as you experienced, and very little die off. I noticed a couple micro brittle stars, and 2 hermits snuck along..very happy
