Maricultured Live Rock care?

Hey yall!

Just curious if any of you high salinity or no salinity dipped your live rock? How necessary is it? Debating if I should dip it or yolo it into my aquarium? It arrives tomorrow.

f you are purchasing premium live rock, I'd advise you to not do any sort of dip like that. You will be harming the beneficial biodiversity that you are paying for in the first place. If you're worried about undesirable hitchikers, you should inspect thoroughly with a flashlight before adding it into the tank, and if possible, place it in a holding tank or in an easily visible area of the sump so you can observe it for a few days and remove any hitchikers that may have been hiding upon the initial inspection when you received it.

That being said, when I bought live rock from @LiverockRocks (tampa bay salt water), I yolo'ed it right into the tank and had no issues. Not saying this is a guaranteed safe/good idea, just saying it worked for me.

When I got TBS rock as well I threw it into my pico tank and had no issues with it!

Hey all! Got my rock and it’s beautiful. I did notice a bristleworm on it. Seems like the harmless kind (not fireworm). Should I leave him be? Terrible pic quality- sorry really had to zoom
