I have a gold spot maroon clown. She/he is about 2" or so. She hides up by my overflow some days and comes out to eat. But on other days she will be out and about all day long. Is this just normal clown behavior? Or is there something I should be worried about?
My water parameters are-
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5~
pH 8.2
Temp 82
Salinity 1.025

If everything is okay, I wanna get a second maroon clown. Since mine is small, should I look for an even smaller one or a bigger one than 2"? I'm just wondering because I know two of the same size probably won't work well...
Would it have to be the same kind of MC? or could I have a different variety?
Aside from these fish, would they get along with a fox face and/or a lawnmower blenny?

It’s sounds like it’s hosting the overflow and try to look for a bigger maroon though

That's kinda what I was thinking. Is that okay for her to do?

Totally normal. It’s going to be really hit or miss with a maroon adding a second one. Unless paired from the get go the established one might not accept the new one. I had one years ago that never let me add another clown.

Should be fine with a Foxface or blenny.

Thank you :)

always smaller with new clowns. no exceptions.
