A little something for everyone. The system is gorgeous.

I have struggled with a persistent presence of cyano in my tank for several years. I tried to treat it with several common commercial products for treating cyano that never worked. I had written it off an accepted it as an inevitable fixture in my system. Then recently i treated the whole tank with cipro (500 g per night, 400 gallon total volume for a week) because I had a couple of torches randomly melt over the winter and I was concerned there may be a bacterial pathogen.

After treating for a week I performed a water change, turned on UV, and dosed PNS to reinoculate the system with bacteria. Then a week later, not a spot of cycno can be found anywhere in my system. It seems like I accidentally stumbled upon a cure for my stubborn cyano! I see patches of my sand bed I have not seen in years now. I figured I would share!

Good to know. Did it harm any microlife? I.E. pods etc.
I have not noticed any impact on macro life. I was mostly concerned about the microbiome and disrupting that causing a cascade effect on the overall health of the system, but so far the only thing I noticed was harmed was the cyano. I also dosed fluconazole to get rid of a patch of bryopsis that kept popping up. Some GHA is still around, but I think it has always been present and was just covered by cyano hiding much of it
