The LifeReef secondary chamber is ready for install with quick connect valves for easy maintenance.

The tank is now almost 8 years old and I have always seeked ways to increase my PH. Along with the CaRx I dose kalk through my ATO, and recirculating CO2 scrubber through the protein skimmer. My PH ranges between 7.85 and 8.05. DKH is very consistent between 8.0-8.2.

The CaRx effluent also remains very steady around 6.55 draining into a Refugium before entering the sump. I can’t wait to see the impact on the effluent PH and tank PH while also monitoring any changes to my alkalinity.

Let's get a new tank shot. Haven't read through all of it but you maintain flow with a single vortech?

Here is a photo after I chopped down the right side just before I did the middle and more on the left.

Here is the current look. I had some serious coral warfare and the monti’s in the middle were restricting flow across the tank. I decided to break out the bone cutters and go to work.

I purchased some new frags from Battle Corals and expect to fill the space again fairly quickly. Here are a couple shots from my more mature colonies that didn’t meet the chopping block.

I just saw Jeff has a new skimmer model with dual mazzei venturi inputs!! Really hoping to see someone post a video of one in use, or I may just have to get one anyway :)

Hey, did you ever end up purchasing the dual Mazzei Venturi Lifereef skimmer with the 10" diameter cylinder? I’d love to hear how it turned out! What pumps did you go with, and how’s the performance compared to your SVS2-24 with the 4" extension running a single Vectra M2 and Mazzei Venturi? Curious to know how the two stack up!

Been forever…no I did not end up trying it out as much as I wanted to. Having a kid really changed the game as far as time commitment goes. I actually just listed the LifeReef sump for sale in the goods section. Hitting the pause button for a year and determining if I start another one or if this chapter book of my hobbies has ended.

Let’s see that Beach Bum!
Nick! Sad day buddy. I have taken so many frags from the Bum which started the size of a dime!

This is the last photo I have of it. I took an overhead shot right before all the livestock was taken by my LFS. The BUM is in the bottom left corner on the sand. No lights on over the tank except ambient room light.
