Hey guys!

I was wondering if someone could help me with some math. Or more accurately make sure that I am doing it correctly.

I want to dose Alk in my tank. I want to try and keep my number some where around 9.8ish. I was away for two days and just check my Alk today an its at 8.8 and thats with a Hanna tester. I have the Red Sea Reef Foundation kit and their website says that 1ml of their Alk supplement will per 25g will raise the Alk by 0.1dKh.

My tank is a 20 gallon so the math I did would mean that I would add around 9ml to the tank? Dose that sound right?

I have never dose before because many people said that I wont need to with a tank this small because my water changes would be enough but recently my corals have been failing and WWC said i should be dosing. ANY and ALL help is so appreciated! Thanks in advance guys!

20/25 = 0.8 or 80% volume of 25 gallons.

1.0 mL * 0.8 = 0.8 mL to raise 20 gallon tank by 0.1 dkh

1.0 dkh difference / 0.1 = 10 so 10 * 0.8 ml = 8 mL of alk additive.

BRS calculator doesn't have RS products on it.

If you have a 20 gallon tank youre going to dose .8ml to increase the Dkh by .1

If you want to increase your DKh by 1 you need to do .8ml*10=8ml
