Really want to get a Vortech and the flow calculator on their website shows a max thickness of 9.5mm. My glass is 10mm.
The calculator shows that a MP10 would be good, but a MP40 would be well over the acceptable range.

I see they use a wireless power system.

Does anyone know if that extra .5 of a mm will matter?

You may be ok. I know that there's a jump in weight and quite a bump in magnet strength between each model, so it's never a bad idea to go with the next model up and just run at lower speeds.
well that is usually my MO, but the ecotech website shows the MP40's minimum setting is 1000 GPH, whereas the MP10's min is 200 GPH.

@LightingBug I don’t think you should have an issue with MP10s. It’s not like they will magically stop working 0.5mm farther away. That said, I’d make sure to properly secure the dry side so it doesn’t fall off your tank. Just follow the instructions on that.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
