EDIT: Scuse me. I meant 20g high.

I can only attribute this to temporary insanity brought on by all the awesomeness at MAX yesterday.
Okay, so none of it was completely impulse buy. I just wasn't gonna do it NOW.

But I did....stupid convention XDD I got so excited!! And Mom gave me some tax return!! All I _was_ gonna do was pick up some stuff for Kirby and I ended up with THIS. And nothing for him but a little chaeto and some xenia XDD If he's civil with the xenia I'll put in the mushrooms too.

And some frags I got for $6 total because they may or may not come back:

These are clove polyps...NOT real happy this morning, though.

LITTLE concerned about the orange clown. Don't think he's feeling 100%...doesn't really want to eat. :/

So...I came home with two ocellaris clowns (thank the Lord I had a tank to put them in!!), live sand, Dr. Tim's, a light (found an LED I can handle!!) four frags for $6 that may or may not make it (I took them to give them a chance...), two mushroom, a xenia, and a clove polyp frag, a little chaeto algae, grabbed an aquaclear filter and a (I'll be replacing this pretty soon, probably) Aqueon heater at petco on the way home. These guys will live in my 20g until my 125 reef is set up XD Now to purchase a cleanup crew...

Oh, yeah, and an uber-awesome piece of driftwood for my FW 125 <3

Well, after some really dumb mistakes (falls under the category of "real smooth, moron") and a hitchhiking asterina, I lost all my MAX corals. After battling a huge greenwater bloom and tweaking some things, my tank is again ready for corals.

And just in time!! A won gift certificate and a very kind birthday present of the shipping cost from my mother in law netted me some amazing corals from the Cherry Corals Summer Spectacular Live Sale. Delayed out camping (incidentally, almost exactly where the huge fire is now) by a blown car engine, it was a while before I could have them shipped...but they're in the tank now and looking awesome. They arrived healthy and beautiful, my tank params are about as good as they can be and I'm so happy I could cry.

I highly recommend Cherry Corals. Originally recommended to me by Mark Callaghan, they have provided incredible customer service and well-packed, beautiful, healthy corals. I will not hesitate to order from them again.

Pics forthcoming soon. :) I have to be careful with the lighting right now so they can acclimate to my LEDs.

The polyps have emerged without a hitch!

I forgot to update that I also lost the baby clown who wouldn't eat, but I got a new one and the existing black bonded quickmy with it. They both have hearty appetites and are growing like weeds

So? What do you think? :) I don't have them under full light yet because I'm acclimating them to LEDs.

Comment away! I'd love to talk about the tank n_n

I forgot to include my greenwater fiasco XD

Thank the Lord it's resolved!

See how it looked?

Saddest part is that wasn't taken at the tank's worst. XP

Between a change in water source (guess what? My RO unit wasn't filtering!), a uv sterilizer, and Dr. Tim's Waste-Away, it has come through and is in the condition you see now! <3

Edit: I've also found some encrusting sponges growing, which is cool!

I think you've got a nice start. Nice looking frags. What LED fixture are you using? I'm running the same size reef if you want to check out my thread for ideas.

Any updates?

Not yet :) it's only been a couple of days since the last update. I intend to update at the first week mark of these corals being in my tank.

However, I can report that everything seems to be doing great....except my chaeto. Stupid turbo snails keep eating it >.<

Any updates?

Oh, actually, there is an update. The day after I received the corals I opted to turn off the uv, using just the pump portion for water flow. I also dosed half my usual waste-away twice, a couple days apart, instead of all at once - just to be safe. So far I have not yet had to turn the sterilizer back on, which is good; I want to build up beneficial bacteria, and goniopora in particular benefits from eating tiny particles such as phyto and bacteria in the water.

Very nice start on the corals! What may I ask are you feeding your Mandarin?

Thanks n.n I really got blessed there.

Spike gets a fresh bottle of live Tigger-Pods (6oz, I think) added to the tank once a month, minimum. I'm planning to start buying the 16oz bottle of ReefPods (Tisbe variety) next month, since the clowns like to eat them too and my boy's growing! XD
I think he may be picking up bits of other foods but he's been very skittish lately so I can't really get close to watch him eat.

Not much to update - it's been about a week since my CC corals arrived, and they're still doing great!! I love them, too <3

It's my birthday today, too. Mom's taking me to my favorite fish store tomorrow to maybe choose something small n.n
