Maxima clam predator

What can clean a clam out like this? I checked it last night around 10:30 and at 6 this morning it looked like this.

Many! Had a nassarius snail clean out a clam overnight Thursday. However it is likely the clam died and snail feasted on it.

Was the clam healthy? I've had clams die and cuc finish them off but as mentioned above there were signs their health was declining. I've not had a healthy clam cleaned out like that.

EDIT: In the image I don't see any new growth on the shell which a healthy clam should have.

The clam was a new addition. Since it happened at night I'll assume it wasn't fish related. As far as inverts there are- peppermint shrimp, blue and red legged hermits,serpent and brittle stars,cerith snails,nassarius snails,red and green mithrax crabs. It seemed to be in good health but as in some cases things can look great one moment and die the next.

I always like to look for a nice white new growth band on the shell as a sign of good health. There are probably other ways but this is what I look for before purchasing. Sorry this one didn't make it.
