Have for 5 years now since it was 1.5"

One side has mushrooms growing

Other side has something else growing,

Pretty neat..., just happened, not intended

Looks like an algae. Nature is fun. Just make sure they are not bothering it too much. Although 5 years is a good amount of time for it all to be happy together.

im pretty sure that is a massive aiptasia infestation on your clam. I would do anything and everything to get that off your clam and out of your tank. spreads like wildfire and when they get close to the mantel they will sting the clam

I enhanced your photo they are tubular with the classic sweeper tentacles on top flower orientation. they are forming in clusters and beginning stages thats why they look like a carpet. as a test give them particles of food they will grab the food and rapidly pull into mouth. If not i stand corrected

Was like that for 4 years....
When i upgraded tanks, hands were too full to deal wirh him...

He finally let go of the glass a couple of days ago....
Gotta tell u , was bothering me for years..

Was a couple spinuloid worms on his shell too...
Need plyers to get them off
