I clean mine every 3 months, no issuesThey're nice but a word of caution. Once it gets dirty it will gum up and just stop.
3 inches down, horizontal, at 50% constant for the past 14 monthsHey @revhtree or anyone how do u have urs set up?
The look like this http://www.coralvue.com/maxspect-gyre-ruggedized-propellerHow do we know we are buying the ruggedized?
Nope mine don't look like that. The look like this http://www.coralvue.com/maxspect-gyre-ruggedized-propeller
Can't be... they have not been out that long. If I remember right I got mine right after they were released maybe 2 years ago. The thread got me thinking though. Might be worth fixing it with newer parts like rotors, selling it and getting back some of my money or maybe using it on a future tank.Mine I picked up used. I have the original receipt it was bought in 2013. Was that before or after u bought urs @zoomonster
150Did u have the 150 or 130?
I believe you... memories not what it used to be lol but I know I've had this tank a little over 2 years and got the gyre after tossing some Jebao's. Maybe it was further after release than I remember. When I get home I'll post up the receipt
Me too!cleaning mine is a pain in the butt. It takes me about 5 attempts before the red circle of death goes away. It moves a lot of water, but the efficiency decreases as it get coraline algae and such growing on it. I curse the thing every time I take it apart to clean it and put it back together.
The ruggedized propellers had 4 blazes instead of 8 in the original model. On one end it has the white plastic like the one shown in the link while the other end come with hard plastic instead of flimsy plastic gaskets. If you still have warranty on your gyre I would suggest contact the manufacture to get replacement. In my case they gave me 50% credit toward my order of new propellers. What's this ruggidized one everyone speaks of and thank u @jsker. I think I'm going to do gyre with all the other flow I have
