Anyone have a good light schedule prefer something in a good 20K spectrum. Light SPS mostly. Have this over my 40G NUVO ExT.

I’m still learning the functions and dialing in the light. I LOVE the cloud pattern Bali location setting color, but I haven’t figured out how to dial down the intensity with that setting.

I like a good 20k color as well. I am currently using auto setting SPS, color temp selected all the way to blue, acclimation 50%, which gives me 250-300 par throughout the tank.

Did you ever figure how to turn down the intensity?

No, they said that setting is set in stone to mimic those specific locations.
I love the lights but the app and lack of information really sucks. I have 6 of these lights and really like them but I am rethinking the hassle of using them. I have reached out to BRS support to try get some answers but it takes Maxspect three days to reply and then it’s pretty generic.
I am trying to find someone who has a QR code for the AB + settings, I saw it somewhere but can’t remember where.

If I use one of the pre sets ie Bali, how do I adjust the on/off time or is that not adjustable.
Just fyi I opened a support ticket with Maxspect, hoping to get some sort of decent reply early next week. I am also looking forward to Reefapalooza in about 2 months as I see that Maxspect has a booth and I really need some answers from someone in person.

Would love to hear any updates.. the light is nice but the app is pretty lacking

I guess if enough people ***** about it they will possibly do something.
This is the message I sent to Maxspect.
I recently purchased 6 of the above lights, I am having great difficulty in setting the color percentages exactly as I want them. I am a little confused as to why this should be so complicated.
I feel like settings that should be so simple are extremely complicated to find and adjust…..very frustrating.
1) I figured out how to adjust color percentages across all the lights in manual mode, however I am trying to change the on/off time but in the manual mode it seems like this is not available. If you go to auto then you can do it. How can this be done in manual.
2) In auto mode can you install a saved setting.
3) I am finding that the app is pretty difficult to navigate and is definitely not intuitive.
4) I am also having difficulty adjusting percentages when using the presets, they are too bright so I need to turn them down

I really like the lights but if I can’t get satisfactory answers on how to navigate and adjust settings I might possibly send these lights back for credit.

This is the reply.
I am reaching out to you from Bulk Reef Supply on behalf of Maxspect for US-based support! We're sorry to hear about the difficulties you're experiencing with the app, and I hope that I might be able to clear some things up!

  1. Manual mode will require you to manually turn the lights on and off each day; Automatic mode will follow a schedule that you program. Unfortunately you will not be able to program an on/off time in manual mode.
    1. This video may explain the Automatic mode programming a little better, although I do want to apologize since there's no voice-over or other additional explanations. You will need to turn on CC for some subtitle instructions.
    2. Essentially, your Sunrise and Sunset points will be your On and Off points. These will set the time your lights start to ramp up, and when they are done ramping down. You will want all color channels to be at 0% intensity.
    3. You may add additional schedule points in-between these bu using the "Add" and "Modify" buttons. While you are Editing the time point, you can drag the "color dots" to make rough adjustments to that time point, or use the + and - buttons to make 1% fine-tune adjustments
  2. The only way we're aware of to import other settings is to acquire a QR code from a hobbyist whose setting you like! For example, if one of my hobbyist friends has a schedule I want to copy, I'd ask them to export their schedule as a QR code that I would then be able to import/scan to copy those settings.
    1. You might also find some hobbyists sharing their codes on forums or facebook, but I admittedly don't know how long a QR code lasts. I can find this out for you if this feature is something you'd like to try!
  3. I see where you're coming from; a lot of programming apps for lighting are less-than-intuitive and have a learning curve to them! While I don't use Maxspect lights on my tank at home, my personal experience with the Mobius app (EcoTech Marine lights) feels very similar to how Syna-G is designed. The best option is to watch videos to learn tips and tricks; the full Ethereal Infinite playlist is here:
    1. Same as before, clicking the CC button will give you the most additional help/feedback. Maxspect does not do voice-overs on their product guides. :(
    2. You may have a better time using the Easy Setup, and modifying the schedule slightly from there?
  4. The best way to adjust the overall brightness on the app for a preset is to modify the individual points- this isn't very convenient, and is one of the suggestions we've tried to make to improve things! We apologize for the inconvenience!

I hope this feedback helps, but please let me know if I may assist further!

That is a great letter, maybe I should send one too. Which email did you send to?

The reply actually came from BRS as they handle the support here in the US. If you go to the Maxspect website you will find a way to lodge a request for support or I guess you can look at BRS website to see how to get support. Keep us updated.
