Hi, anyone else find these to be too noisy? I turned mine on today and was very surprised about how loud they are. Do they eventually get more quiet? Mine are only running on 20%

I have a pair running on random up to 70% and cant hear them unless the house is dead silent or my head is next to the dry-side magnets. If I remember right they were a little louder when I got them. They've been running around 7-8 months. You could always try the spare heads they come with to see if its the motor or turbines. For what it's worth I have a 90 long with 1/2" glass.

Mine are reasonably noisy as well when running over 20-30%, has been on the tank for about 10 months or so.
Much more noticeable when ramping up/down/off/on, if left on constant mode it’s less annoying but what’s the point might as well just get a power head with constant power.
If you have a pair I find that as long as at least one is ramping up/on while the other is ramping down or off it’s not too distracting. If you have just one I think if you have the settings so it never gets to 0% will be the best bet.

The problem that I see is that the fish should NOT have to put up with this noise. I could get used to it I suppose but would always hear it. But fish can hear too and two pumps making enough noise for me to hear over my TV is not acceptable for them as far as I’m concerned. Especially given sound travels better in water!

Well, I have to retract my prior post. Since you pointed it out, yes I can hear mine now. Maybe I got used to it before. Anything over 50% I can hear. Along with what @Corndiggly said, more noticeable during ramping up for me.
