Hi all sorry if this has already been talked about but I couldn’t find anything.
I have bought a Maxspect 250 gyre and a icecap module for this gyre to be able to control it with the apex. But i am only able to control the intensity and not the flow pattern such as pulsing and random flow. Am i doing something wrong or is this all that im able to control with it?

Did you purchase the Gyre Alternating cable? It's required for the Apex & IceCap module to be able to control the gyre direction. See https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/alte...d-cable-for-gyre-interface-module-icecap.html

Once you have the correct cable, use one Apex variable port to control the speed, and use another variable port to control the direction. 0 = forward, and 100 = reverse.
So this cable will allow me to make the gyre pulse? And do other patterned other than just a constant flow?

You can pulse On/Off without the special cable. But if you want it to run forward & reverse with the Apex, you need the Alternating cable.

If you only want it to pulse, you can use either a Profile, or you can turn it On/Off on a repeating schedule with the OSC command. Here's an example of an Apex profile that would run the Gyre at 100% for 30 seconds, then 0% for 10 seconds, and repeat indefinitely:
