she's much hot, thought that the first time i saw here when she was announced his running mate.

she doesn't have experience that qualifies her to run the country, neither does obamma.

all they've done, is turned this from "the old white guy vs the young black guy," into "the woman vs the black guy" dems will get the black vote, repubs will get the woman vote. can you blame mccain for doing this? out of the 2 running, he's the one that has experience. he knows obamma is only there because he is black (i mean, come on, would they let a white guy run after only be a sen for a year). wouldn't that be frustrating for you? you've been doing this forever (look at his age, i mean FOREVER :D ), and they get some young hot shot to run against you and he is getting voted for because he will be the first black president. wouldn't you do something to even the playing field?

i personally feel the color of your skin doesn't make a s*** of a difference. if you're a turd, you're still a turd, whether your black or brown, or have been sitting in the yard a couple weeks and your white.

all the promises they are making will be forgotten the day they're put into office, anyway. what, the economy is going to pull out of its nose dive, because the president is black?

IF your a single issue voter, you shouldn't be voting or you vote based on the skin color, sex you shouldn't be voting......There are to many dynamic issues outside of the abortion issue that also need to be addressed. Like I said women, most anyway are far more intelligent and complicated then just one issue and care about other things....It is the media and the parties that try and put them into a box of simplicity on a single issue...There have been what 5 presidents over the time that Roe v, Wade was established 4 of them being Republicans and it is still legal although there maybe a bit more restrictions placed on it, simple cause it is not a form of birth control. I know a lady that was friend of a family member and she had 9 abortions over her 27 years at the time. At some point we as a group of people and a culture have to say enough is enough, the problem is there are 1000's maybe 10s of 1000's more just like her and that is when it becomes an issue......

There are FAR MORE single issue voters then we think there are!

My Mom said she was voting for McCain, just because he fought in Vietnam. If ANYONE should be voting Democrat it is MY MOM, she is on state Disability, and is currently WITHOUT any medical insurance, she has to wait 24 months for Medicade to kick in. She NEEDS the healthcare, but she is voting for McCain just because he was in Vietnam, and she was a hippie!

That is the problem Poseidon to break these kinds of things down to a single issue is far to simplistic of a thought process and then those of us that look at the whole gambit of things get screwed in the rear....I have dealt with that at work with the union and employer during contract times.....The part timers(usually young high school/ college kids) see a $2.00 increase over 4 years and think that is great, but those of us that are full timers who have been there for years get screwed cause what the others didn't look at was the increase in health care, lose of benefits simple cause they had the single issue in there head......Which in this case there are 2x the part timers then full timers so guess who losses?

Umm, why? People have every right to prioritize their issues, and if one is THAT important to them, then they should vote for a candidate that matches their view(s). To say they shouldn't be voting is asinine. If you have an issue that is very important to you, so be it, and use the freedom that you are given to express that view. The fact that the next president will likely be able to seat as many as three Supreme Court justices makes these social issues even more important.

This is why you can't bin race/sex groups into bins, because different people in these groups have different issues that the feel are important.

single issue voters? look at all the people that are going to vote for obamma, just because he's black. i'm somewhat hesistant to say it, but i'll say it anyway, i think the majority of the people out there are voting on simplistic views and how they feel about the person. they don't understand the real issues, they (like Az said) are voting on the issues the media and commercials are telling them. they are the ones believing the "obamma is a militant muslim" stories. sheep: tell them, and they listen/obey.

it really frustrates me. yes, everyone has the right to vote, but do they have the information/intelligence necessary to do so? people are going to vote for obamma becuase he is black; people are going to vote for mccain because he has a female runningmate (who IS hot, i might add, once again); people are going to vote for mccain because he has served his country. i guaran-dang-tee you, the real issues are hardly taken into consideration. not that it matters, anyway. the president can't get anything done without approval, anyway. pretty much a figurehead.

nothing is going to change. the economy is going to run its course whether old guy or black guy is in office. if most of our stuff is being made overseas, what do we expect? germans bought bud. yeah, still american jobs, but now the money the company makes is going to germany. really helps us out to have money spent here, go there. of course, we have no money we're sending it overseas with the jobs! plus, then we "make up" money to help out other countries, when we have plenty of people who could use the help right here! flippin a!

The president has 100's of people around him to give him the choices to make.People give the position of presidency to much credit, those that are in the Legislature have far more power to effect our lives then The presidency.

Is it me or does this itself prove that it doesn't matter how experienced or ineperienced a president or vice president is. After all they are all just figurehead puppets anyway.

Besides, may I remind you all that we do not live in a direct democray, which is what we go around the world setting up. We live in an oligarchy, we are ruled by the privileged few whose minds are more influenced by money coming from huge corporations than what their constituents actually think about anything.

The United States... I love my country, but I fear my government.

Well, I'm a woman and I'm not, not voting for McCain & CO just because of abortion. I'm not voting for him because I don't want a third term of a Bush puppet who will flip-flop all over the place and do whatever big oil and corporations want him to do.

Right now in FL they are talking about lifting the oil drilling ban on our coasts because some legislators think that that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil, what a joke. We don't need to drill more wells or build more nuclear plants in order to reduce our dependence on foreign oil; we need to start seriously looking into other sources of energy, stop driving hummers like we're going to go through the outback somewhere, increase fuel efficieny, stop creating so much waste, and stop giving huge tax breaks to oil companies. These are things that we can do now that we will see a much faster return on then just drilling more.
Tons of experts across the board have said that it will take at least 15 years to see any returns on new oil wells. Do you actually think that in 15 years there will be the same amount of vehicles in the U.S. as there are now, so those new wells will be able to supply all our needs as a country?

Now McCain's VP loves big oil, sued the Bush Admin for placing the polar bear on the endangered species act because it gets in the way of drilling for oil in Alaska, is so anti-abortion that she doesn't even think **** victims should be allowed to have an abortion, is about as conservative as possible, etc, etc, etc. There is no way in hell they'll get my vote.

Even if Obama isn't that experienced at least it would be a change whereas McCain will just give us another 4 years of the same old **** and will probably conveniently croak before his term is up so they can put someone like his VP in place.
If you think that our country is honestly better off after 8 years of the Bush administration you're either a die hard republican or you work for Haliburton/Blackwater. Even one of my customers that's a hardcore republican and has supported Bush throughout his term, admitted to me this year that he no longer has faith in this administration and thinks we should get out of Iraq. This is a good old boy guy, that drinks hard, likes big guns, and goes to hunt elk a couple times per year; not someone you could classify as a liberal.

I do agree that our "democracy" has definitely become skewed and isn't nearly as democratic as it could be, but most americans are so apathetic that they won't write their legislators or get out there and vote. So how can we complain that the system needs change if we don't try and do anything about it?

I realize that this will just add more fuel to the fire on this thread, but I refuse to remain silent on such an important issue. Heaven forbid I vote for someone on one issue, when there are so many reasons why I won't vote for someone.

you can vote for whomever you want. what adds fuel to the fire, is when people try telling others they have to vote a certain way.

mccain is no more a bush puppet, than obamma is a clinton puppet.

i don't like any of them (except palin is HOTT), and when it comes down to such, i vote for my party. to defend one over the other is to say you buy into their political bull hockey. show me any president in the last 24 years (just a random number) who actually pulled through on all the bs they spread.

some make it sound like it's a big consipiracy, that the other party (whomever they're not going to vote for) is up to something and is going to ruin the world. the world will go on until the Lord brings it to an end.

crap, as far as i'm concerned, the only really important thing the pres does is appoint our judges. they've got more pull than he does. he's just the one standing on top of the parade float waiving to all the people and looking pretty (this has been an analogy, you may now return to your regular program) :)

I look at who most often aligns with my ideals and vote for them accordingly. I do not need a party to tell me who is the best candidate, nor do I need a vice president to make up my mind.

IMO. Everybody will argue about the best choice because this argue is almost as strong as religion. Choice, perception, and stereotypes are a personal thing no matter if you have them or not. The best thing about this election IMO is that we have a lot more people excited about it than before.

From what I see there is things I like about both and things I do not. If there were one certain person that was absolutely perfect for running out country, there would not be a voting process.... So, I weigh it out, you can see where my vote will be going....
