Man. Between you and @skey44 I'm starting to get the stick bug!
Haha! Thanks man. I know the feeling. I really like the sticks a lot but really love the mix of corals. Softies and LPS such as torches add so much movement to the tank.

The movement is what sucks me in everytime when I look at a tank. But I am really starting to recognize the beauty in the sticks too! 🤣

Well, time to go hunting or trapping. Looks like this crab has a taste for SPS polyps. I was wondering what was happening to this acro. It was doing great! I need to put him in sump jail!

Another thing I did today is collect rubble and put into a couple of baskets in the sump. Gulf Live Rock sand contains lots of ruble and after time is surfaces to the top while the finer sand sinks. Not a big fan of too much rubble on the sand so collected bunch of it and put it in the sump. I think it will be a great place for pods and such and also can use that rubble to help seed a new tank for someone in the future.

Well, that didn't take long. Caught a crab, not the crab. Pretty sure it's a Mithrax Crab as well due to his large size, but it's one of the green (Emerald) ones I haven't had issues with. No effort trap back in place.

Yes, yes, always blame others. I like your thinking. Well played!

It's ALWAYS someone else's fault. ALWAYS! 🤪

I'll get that sucker out, but need to build a better trap. The tang gang figured they can go in the glass I have in there and is taking all the food.

I think that frag will pull through assuming that crab doesn't keep beating the you know what out of it.

I know I’ve heard of plastic wrap rubber banded over the mouth of the glass, with a slit cut in it, to get a mantis shrimp trapped…

What about leaving around 1/4 of the glass top open, and plastic wrapping the rest? — the crabs can still crawl in, but a tang won’t fit!

those look awesome!
Thanks man. Just took another picture of the the new Rainbow through the glass. It's starting to settle in and I'm seeing more PE and color coming through. Tried to emulate color to what I see under the lighting.

🙌🏻. it’s in “feed mode” with those terminal polyps extended like that, always something I love to see.

I was just going through old pictures of my previous tank. I pulled this monti cap out in one piece somehow. It was HUGE and shadowing to many corals.

That's an impressive pull!

It sure was. I couldn't believe it. I broke some pieces off for a few fellow reefers and donated the rest to a LFS that always treated me very well. Thanks for checking it out.

I've been waiting to see water in your new tank. The one thing I would have liked to have done is go 30" wide like your tank. Good luck with your build.
