Memorial Day From Canada

My sincere apologies I missed recognizing the sacrifices made by all people in the defense of freedom yesterday. May we be resilient . I do not consider this political.

I learned today that Canada has one on July 1st, so happy Memorial Day to your country! (even though we are a month out)

Yeah!

Canada Day is July 1st- that's our bday, which involves remembering the men and women who sacrificed for our nation- in and out of the Armed Forces. But largely it's just to celebrate being Canadian.

Memorial Day is July 1st as well, is celebrated in ONE province. To commemorate the 800 men of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment who marched off to the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel which lasted approximately 30 minutes.

At roll call the following day however- only 68 answered. The Regiment was all but lost, and the province (an island) was devastated.

We celebrate Remembrance Day on Nov 11 every year to reflect and commemorate our war dead as a whole.

Just to let you know July 1 is Canada day. A relatively new one ours is on November 11 remembrance day but thank you
