I just received some mesh filter bags from McMaster. I've seen people discuss using these bags previously but never used myself. The website says for use with water and it's made of polyester. I assume this is reef safe but it doesn't say NSF or use with potable water on the website.

Does anyone know if these are safe to use for reefs?

Polyester and nylon are both synthetic fibers. Most of mesh bags I purchase are nylon. Either way, give them a good washing to remove any possible residue. They should be fine.
