Would it be a good idea to buy some metal halides from a store that are used? They are selling 15 of them for 200$ lol. Was wondering if it would be good if I just swapped the bulbs with reef bulbs. As far as i know id just need to wire up a plug.

Check the ballast and make sure you match the rating of the bulk to the ballast.
