Just FYI as I think you are wanting to pop over after the New YEar, I have a drill press and can drill your prop tank for you. I'm set-up for 1" and 2" bulkhead sizes. Just bring the tank and the bulkheads and the drilling is on me :)

I also have an abundance of MJ powerheads, and little knick knacks for prop tanks laying all over the place...and dirt cheap! :)

Have fun, this will be a great little project.

Merry Christmas, Bryan

I am definitly stopping by your place soon. And know that you mentioned drilling the tank i have made a design. If its all right with you there could be three possible places it could be drilled.... heres the diagram-

why not hook your return up to a small sea swirl on the back of the tank, j/k looks awesome, send some pics when you get it completed. I think you will be way happier running t5 over the halides. Since you are putting a sump in-are you gonna leave the prop tank bare bottom?

I was originally going to go with T5s and a 20L, but I had an extra MH ballast, bulb, and 20H tank so that is what I went with. The 20l and t5s sounds like a better idea, when u think about heat, but to be honest I have let the bulbs run for as long as 8hrs with no heat issues. Good luck and don't forget to post pics!
