Many are familiar with how responsive acan/micromussa are to light but does anyone else have experience with simple / general stock acans bought from LFS turning rainbow? Loving how my smaller micromussa, bought as a standard red, is developing (‘rainbow’ for comparison).

Running under an AI Prime 16.

I’ve seen it before! But I’ve also seen it the other way around. I had a beautiful rainbow Acan and tank took a turn for the worse for a year or so and it’s a basic red/blue now. Hope to get it back to rainbow soon!

I’ve had good results from putting red/orange Acans under very low par and feeding them 2 or 3 times a week. Took a little bit but they came out nice and grew new heads during that time also.

What settings are you running on the light?

Sorry for the late reply. This is apprx 8” from the top of the tank (waterbox 10). The coral is just about centered under the light and a few inches off the bottom… taking a fair bit of light, relatively speaking.

I second this , acans love low light in my opinion, good flow and low light and they go crazy for me , all fluffy and all sorts of colours
