Last Saturday (7 days ago) I added enough ammonia to get my tank up to 2ppm as instructed. Then added Brightwells MicroBacter StartXLM and today there is 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and 3 nitrates. Unfortunately I didn't check for nitrites until 4 days after the initial start and I never saw it go up. It certainly could have happened in those first 4 days that I missed. I am truly impressed. Yeah I saw Jake Adams do it but you always wonder if he might be doctoring the videos a little to put the advertisers in a good light. Well Jake was right on the money here! Kudos to Brightwell!

Since I am in no rush I am debating whether I should add some ammonia and watch it run through again. Since I have no fish in the system I do not see how this would hurt.
