Lol.That's why I called you guys in, because it looks to me like dinos but I'm no expert on that stuff.
Then I added a bit of H2O2 to see what would happen and they became frantic. Lol
Then I added more until they all ceased to move.
Awesome, now what is the best way to deal with them? Or is the tank just not mature enough to outcompete them? Will their numbers shrink with time?This is very cool.
These are Small-Cell Amphidinium dinoflagellates.
Interesting that oxidizer made the inactive ones start to move - hadn't seen that before.
I've been looking at picking up a microscope myself. Do you mind telling me what kind you got?Just received a delivery notification that my microscope is at home now. I hope to capture some shots of what is in my tank. I've been battling what i thought was a brown hair algae for a few months. If it's ok, I'll post my microscope shots here later.
