So my microscope just showed up. So I used a syringe and sucked up some of the algae that persists on my sandbed.

turn out, its mostly GHA I believe. But it doesn't have any long strands... it stays a flat mat of algae that has a very smooth almost velvet appearance.

Under magnification it is mostly a mass of green strands, so I'm assuming its just GHA. Among the green mass, I did find a few things that I would like ID's on.

These coiled up things? Are these some type of worm? I found one that appeared to still be alive and was squirming all over like a snake. I had trouble keeping up with it..
These appear to look similar, but these coiled ones weren't moving... dead worms maybe?

I'm fascinated by this stuff, but sadly, I have no idea what I'm looking at. Would love any help at ID on anything in these pics.

Looks like covid.

Jk very cool! Thanks for sharing. The one looks like a type of rotifer. Do you feed your coral?
