I love your old school ways! Clearly it works!!!
It does work well for me.I'm just not a tech guy and have very little patients for it.So to keep my stress level down I just keep it simple.
I think I read you K.I.S.S. reef? Is that correct?
Not sure what K.I.S.S means.help me out my lady.
Looking great! That tang is awesome!!
Thanks I do love that guy.I always wanted one and when the chance at one came up I pounced on it.He was not a $900 fish sense I got him from a fellow reefer when he closed shop.

My LFS had 2 small perfect black tangs in about 3 years ago. He would have sold me one for $350. I should have done it for sure! Gotta grab the deals when you can in this hobby, although a little tricky with livestock sometimes.

So spent tonight catching the purple tang.Took about 20 minutes using the bag technique.I wanted to isolate him for a few weeks to lessen the aggression between him and the new mimic tang.I'm not sure if I will ad him back into the tank or rehome him.He will be fine in the box for a few weeks and be fed well.No competition for food in a box so he should stay fat until I decide what to do with him.I placed the mimic tang in a separate box for a few days to let the black tang get use to him and hopefully avoid a beat down.I've had luck before introducing tangs this way with him so will see.Black tangs are not as aggressive as other zebrosoma are so it should work out after a few days of free swim.I'll update the progress in a week or so.

So I introduced the mimic tang last night. The black tang sniffed his butt and decided he was ok with the addition. They have faced off once or twice but without much contact.I think i'll be ok but will see.

Great picture. The bta is very nice. I see what you meant about the larger pieces in substrate picking up varied colors. The colors stand out nicely.
