Hit up another reefer doing a $10 frag sale. Picked up some more pieces. The torch wasn’t $10 but I had to have it lol.

I finally got my controller cabinet organized. It was a major pita but looks good now. I would say if you want to do it, do it before you start your tank. Would have been easier if f I could have pulled out the cabinet to do everything.

Looking nice Mike! I got my EXT 100 right before thanksgiving and it's about 2 weeks running now, just got my first diatom bloom.

Nice controller cabinet, i did the same thing with plywood. the only thing i hate is that stupid shelf, I need to secure it somehow because it kept sliding off the mounts while I worked on the cabinet lol

That's awesome you got it running so fast! Took me forever. I haven't had any issues with the shelf, but i never have my left door open as it's almost touching the wall.

Hey awesome tank! I just ordered one myself. Did you put plywood on the bottom of the stand?
Thanks! I used the plastic piece that comes with it, but put wood underneath to brace it up. I forgot to put a piece under the controller cabinet so it sags a little. Enjoy your tank and let me know if you have any questions.

Hey Mike thanks for the response! I should be getting delivery next week so I want to be all ready.

Is it possible for you to give me the dimensions of the plywood that you put in the stand? I would like to get lowes to cut a piece for me...

Also, do you think a 1600 GPH pump is enough?

Thanks so much!!

The dimensions of the inside of the bottom of my stand are 44 1/2" x 20 5/8"
I am using a Jebao 10000 for my return. I only run it about 85%. IM recommends 1500 gph so you should be good. Depends on what you run it through. Since I have a UV sterilizer it slows the flow quite a bit.

Thank you! I only got the Jebao 6000, maybe I should jump to the 8000....would there be any harm in having them cut it 44x20? Will it still be supported? I just want to make sure it's not too big as I don't have a table saw.

That would work. It comes with the plastic sheet you can place over the top of the plywood and fits exactly.

Thank you for the help! BTW, when you built the stand, did you make section B level with the aluminum posts or with the rubber cover? The instructions say to level it with the rubber but I would be concerned that the rubber would compress and then the weight will transfer to the cross section instead of the corners. Pic below

Those pieces on top are plastic not rubber. The rubber pieces go on the bottom to make the feet. I did not make part b on mine mine level with the plastic caps, but I wish I had. There is a piece of the plastic that sits on top of the stand, same as what sits in the bottom and there is a foam piece that is glued to the bottom of the tank so I am not worried about it. BTW unless they updated them, the stand assembly directions are terrible. I assembled and tore apart my stand a couple of times before I really got it where I felt it was right.

How do you like the fiji cube sump now that its up and running and have you used the media tray at all? I used cups on my last build but like the idea of just throwing a piece of filter floss in instead

I love it. I tried out the media tray while I was testing it in the garage, and it needs a silencer like the filter socks. It was louder than I wanted and I never got around to building one.

Hey Mike, how is this bean animal supposed to work? Is water supposed to go down the second E drain or only the first?

1st drain is the main
2nd should only get a trickle now and then qs water fluctuates
3rd is the emergency should have any water unless there is issues

Thanks so when I set the water level with the gate valve, I want it right up to the second stand pipe? Also, I'm getting the INT instead of the EXT so I'm thinking of glueing the standpipes in as there is so much water volume in the overflow....any big issues doing that?
