I currently have an Eibli mimic tang (acanthurus tristis) and I'm thinking of getting a cherub angelfish. Do you think that the angel would show aggression toward the tang, since they will both look similar in body shape?

I have a 90 gallon bow front mixed reef. The other inhabitants are a neon dottyback, a red-spotted hawkfish and a pair of bangaii cardinals. I'm going to get a few more fish before the angel, but I just wanted to check in about their compatibility. The tang has been in the tank for about 9 months, maybe longer.

I was also thinking of adding one of the genicanthus angels. What do you think about that?

Thank you in advance.

It is possible but I am sure it's been done without issues too. Just train the fish to eat inside a trap and then test. If it doesn't work you can always pull the perp in no time.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
