HI,

Im on the fence about adding mineral mud from carib sea to my chaeto refugium. it is currenlty housing the cheato and a few rubble pieces pieces of rock. The main benefit I'm trying to get out of adding it is greater potential for biodiversity and greater populations of zooplankton that can feed corals / blennies.

Has anyone noticed an increase in population of zooplanktons in the fuge after adding refugium mud?

Maybe im also trying to make a more lively refugium setting, with the increased biodiversity

I can't speak for mineral mud but I have always used Miracle Mud in all my SPS tanks. Does it help, I can't say for certain but what I can say is I don't seem to have as many issues as other reefers with the overall stability of my systems. Do I swear by it, no. Will I ever set up a tank without it, no... FWIW.
