Hello,

I have read varying opinions online about the minimum tank size for a yellow tang. Today, I bought a captive-bred yellow tang from my LFS to put in my drilled, 80-gallon tank. The tank is 47" long. I believe it's a young tang- I would estimate approximately 3" in length. Will the tang be happy and healthy in this size tank? The only other fish inhabitants are two oscellaris clownfish and a yellow watchman goby.

Thanks for your feedback.

If it has a lot of rock for grazing it will be fine, I’ve had one in my 92 g for 3 years along with a purple, and 12 other fish and he’s a nice happy healthy camper.
Sweet!

Did you add the purple and yellow together?

I'm guessing they were both small when you added them?
