My guys are now adults and never really got into the aquariums - who knows what will happen when they settle down. I vividly remember when my dad set up the first guppy tank way way back late sixties/early seventies. A co-worker of my dad's was being transferred to London and my Dad took me to pick up the tank. Gosh, the excitement as my sisters and I watched those first guppy fry being born. I don't recall if it was my asking, but we set up a 5 gallon tank in my bedroom to raise those new born guppies. He's 89 now and a shadow of himself (massive strokes 20 years ago) - I'll see him next week, i think i will make a slide show of my tank and talk to him about my memories those first guppies.
Mom had a Beta as a young lass, before she met dad, and would tell us about how she would make a circle with her fingers and the bata would swim through her make shift circus hoop. During my days in the banking industry always kept a beta in a bowl in my office.
don't push the kids too hard to share your interest. They are their own persons with their own interest, plus you never know how those memories will manifest them long after the footsie pajama days.
