So a couple weeks ago I noticed that one of my Nems was nowhere to be found... Figured he died under a rock someplace... Today, while cleaning out one of the canisters on that tank I found him alive and well. Dropped him back in the DT and he seems to be doing fine.. Hopefully a little wiser for the experience... lol

Glad you found it!
Nems are buttholes. :)
Yup. Couldn't agree more.

I'm so curious where exactly he was hiding from you.
Beautiful nem!

Wait, I was sure I misunderstood. Really inside the canister??

Nope you read it correctly... he was INSIDE the canister... this is the intake he slipped through...

The space between the grating is about the thickness of a penny.

That is some crazy alien-like voodoo hoodoo that nem accomplished to get through that grill and still manage to make it through in one piece!!

Right? I wouldn't have expected anything to fit through that.. let alone survive the experience!!

Exactly. I think you have to put a camera on that intake to see if he does it again. I have to see that voodoo hoodoo alien-like maneuver live!! Clearly your nem is a thrill seeker because that is just some weird craziness!!. Haha. :-)

Haha I wish I had thought to snap a pic of him floating in the canister before I picked him out and dropped him back in the DT.. Trust and believe he was there...

Guess I should be grateful the impeller is on the outlet side and not the intake.. lol (hmm maybe it was designed that way for that very reason?)

I had a nem somehow make in into the middle return chamber of my IM25 Lagoon AIO.

Through an opening THAT small? This is not a dime sized baby.. this guy was at least 4" across at full extension when I last saw him... He's lost a bit of weight since then.. (hey if I stuff myself in a canister would that work for me too? I could stand to lose a bit myself hahaha)
