Missing or Retracted Foot?

Hi,

I recently bought a Maxima clam from liveaquaria.com. I noticed the foot is missing? I contacted liveaquaria and the specialist claimed that it's just retracted due to shipping stress. I want to confirm if that's the case or the foot is truly missing? Will it grow back and if so how long?

They fall off from shipping stress but apparently they recover. Here's a video where it's mentioned.

Thanks for the video. I guess I just need to find a way to prop it up and avoid being toppled until the foot grows back.

It looks like it is probably fine. Give it some time. For me, clams seem to attach quickly to the inside of clean oyster shells.

Perfectly normal, it'll attach within days. Just leave it alone once you place it.
