Hi people!

so my tank consumes a lot of minor elements for my algae scrubber. Currently 14ml of manganese solution, 8ml of iron solution, 1.5ml ati iodine & finally 0.5ml ati vanadium. This is all per day. My question is can I mix a months worth into one container and just dose 24ml a day of that solution to my tank?

thanks

FWIW, only iodine is a minor element. The others are trace elements. Mixing trace elements sometimes can be OK, but other times not, depending on what forms you use.

Do not use Lugols as a source of iodine for mixtures with metals as it may oxidize them (ferrous to ferric, for example).

You can ask about specific combinations of ions here, but in general, watching for any cloudiness when you mix them will give an indication of whether they are compatible.

Ok thanks randy. I don’t use lugols I use ATI iodine.
For iron and manganese I use your recipes and then vanadium I use ATI again. So basically mix the solution and monitor for precipitation as a tester?

I do not know what forms ATI uses. Is the iodine solution dark? If so, it may be Lugols and I wouldn't mix it. If it is only light yellow or clear, it is OK.

Yes on mixing the others.

It’s clear is the ATI iodine. Thanks again for your help!
