I have to different types of sand. It might be going into my 180 gallon tank that is cycling now. It will be a predator tank. I've read different reviews on Google but want a seasoned persons advice. One type is very fine the other not so much.

I thought so. My girlfriends 11 y.o wants a freshwater aquarium. Probably won't have any wave makers or any such thing to blow sand around. Would it work for that? The very fine stuff can end up blowing around which is the usual complaint with it.
Can't speak on it. Haven't gone the freshwater route however doesn't seem like an issue.I thought so. My girlfriends 11 y.o wants a freshwater aquarium. Probably won't have any wave makers or any such thing to blow sand around. Would it work for that?
That makes sense. I have tge coarse down now though. Most people layer the fine sand under the coarse to keep it from blowing around.
