Hello Everyone,

It has been quite a while since I’ve posted. I just moved and long story short now I have space for a mixing station and a new Reef Savvy 60 gallon cube that I’m waiting on. The Reef Savvy build will be on a different thread.

I am posting here to look back in the future and also to give back to this community. Most of the installations that you will see is from ideas I’ve learned from fellow reefers here in Reef2Reef.

The station is located in the laundry room and I will post mostly progress pics.

Station general items includes:

- Two by four stand painted with Rustoleum
- Wall mounted panel for RODI unit and controllers
- Two 40 gallon containers
- BRS 7-stage RODI unit
- Three by Three drip pan
- Schedule 40 pvc/schedule 80 valves and unions
- Sicce DC pump
- Tunze RODI controller

There’s a few more items not listed but you will see them in the upcoming progress pics. Stay tuned and happy reefing.

Will

I'm working on my setup right now, definitely not as far a long as you are as I'm still trying to find a home for it, but, I noticed you've plumbed into the lower section of the stand, are you going to put a sump down there?

The lower section is mainly for storage (Salt, etc)

I’ve plumbed two drains: one for rodi water and the other for mixed saltwater. I can gravity fill up 5 gallon containers on hand if I need by turning ball valves.

Curious how this has worked out for you…is it a pain to clean those bins out? I want to do a similar setup in my basement but I’m 6’5 and getting up top to reach in is pretty much impossible.

Haven’t had to clean them yet, I hosed them down with freshwater. I can’t reach in them either but I guess I’ll figure out how to reach in them couple years later.

I used 3/4” pvc and nylon zip ties to support the rodi controller float switches.
