Mixing Wrasses

Wrasse lovers I need your help! I don't have any experience with wrasses and since I've upgraded to my 210 gallon I would like to add a few. I recently lost almost all of my fish due to a marine velvet outbreak so I'm trying to come up with a stock list so that I can start over. I'm mainly going to be keeping some tangs and maybe anthias for other tank mates. I've looked around at wrasses and here are a few that caught my eye.

McCosker's Flasher Wrasse
Dusky Wrasse
Vrolik's Wrasse

I definitely want to get a blue star leopard wrasse or regular leopard wrasse (once the tank is mature enough) so anything that will not mix with these is not an option. I'm also open to any suggestions that anyone may have. I've got about 1 1/2 months left before I can move anything back into my DT so fire away!

I would add the Mckoskers first, but may wait for the other 2 until after your leopard wrasse is in the tank. The dusky can be on the aggressive side for a Halichoeres, but shouldnt be too bad in a 210, so I would get one as young as possible and add last of the 3.

In a 210 most of the reef safe wrasses are able to be added, look at the Genera of Anampses, Pseudojuloides, Cirrhilabrus, and other species of Paracheilinus, Halichoeres, and Macropharyngodon for other species, most of them mix quite well together.

I'd also caution a bit about mixing the Dusky and the Vroliks; they might not be compatible - it will depend on the attitudes of the two individuals you end up with.

I appreciate the info. I just want to make sure I do things right this time and not lose anymore fish. What are your thoughts on wrasses in QT? I've heard from a few people they don't do well but I'm so paranoid because of what happened that I refuse to just put anything straight into my tank anymore.

Most wrasses benefit from qt, the only group where there is debate is with the leopard wrasses, but I find they respond well to qt, just put a few pieces of mature live rock for grazing.

Usually with wrasses treat for flukes and internal parasites, nothing else, like ich, unless you observe it during qt.

make sure you leave plenty of hiding spaces for the wrasse also , they will need there own nitch in the tanks so as not to get into quarrels over territory
