MO Botanical Garden - Orchid Show

I've got a small orchid collection going at my house (in addition to the menagerie) and every year the Missouri Botanical Garden has an orchid show. My mom and I went to see the show today as tomorrow is the last day for it and these pictures are the result of that road trip...enjoy :)

Very cool photos, esp. the cattleya. They're one of my favorites, but I don't have much luck with them blooming every year. Thanks for posting these!

:cry_002: I had over 60 orchids in my basement on grow stands...mostly started from slips I got from visiting my mother in Florida, that were now HUGE. We are in the process of remodeling the basement and I just had nowhere to store 3 large grow stands and the orchids too...I sold, traded most of them away, except for my favorite one...oh well, when I retire I am going to have a large greenhouse and all the orchids I want..

Those beautiful pictures just remind me how much I miss my orchids.....

Beautiful pictures Chelsey. Count me in as one who used to grow a lot of(over 600)orchids. I have a greenhouse with about 40 varieties now as well as hoyas and succulents. The colors and flower forms are amazing - much like corals. There must be a switch in our brains that responds to the variety and triggers our addiction to these things. I find orchid growers and reefers to suffer from the same obsession:)

Nice pictures, Chelsey. I'e collected a 'few' over the years, but haven't made it to any shows yet. That can be another expensive hobby, if you let it...
