I was wondering if anyone had any experience with bella gobies? I've had one for a little over 2 months in my 30 gallon was one of the first fish added allong with a orchid dottyback and 2 clowns about 3 weeks later. Everything was fine for about a month but in the last week or so the bella goby has been acting agressive towards anything it sees. No fin nipping or anything yet but im worried it may kill something eventually. I can find very little information on this fish but everything says it should be peacful with everything except other gobies or sand dwelling fish.

I'm thinking that my tank may be to small for him despite every source i read says it should be fine. Ive added a picture of the tank.

I didn’t have any aggression with mine but mine were in a 240 gal tank. Your 30 gal might be a bit tight. I wonder with their big mouth and puffy lips if they could really do any harm towards other fish 😊 so maybe just posturing. Problem with mine was that it showered all lower level corals with a layer of sand which became a maintenance nightmare.

Thats what im thinking i've seen videos of them in a larger tank and they didnt seem agressive at all. Might have to rehome him unfortunately. He definitely has opertunity to attack but i havent seen aything but charging with an open mouth. The dottyback just ignores him but he keeps my clowns in the top corner of my tank

Might be the best course of action. Might not be a bad option all around given the maintenance problems they cause.
