Recently, I started planning a new frag system, and I was researching overflow boxes when I came across threads related to Modular Marine. I took note of posts in some threads that were indicative of Modular Marine being temporarily, or permanently, closed. However, I was intrigued by the overflows that they produce, and I reached out with questions.

I received a response to my initial email within an hour, and subsequent questions were answered within a shorter time. I placed my order, and I was given a tracking number the next day. The package is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, and I will provide an update after its arrival and inspection.

I had Modular Marine make a custom overflow box for me and I am really pleased with their service all the way around. Like you said, they replied to my email almost immediately. I needed a fairly large box made to go around existing glass box. Ordered on the 5th and received on the 11th. They packed it really well and the craftsmanship was pretty awesome. Not bad for $80 plus shipping and I love the seamless construction. Very satisfied!

They didn’t charge any more for custom measurements and this one was 22”h x 10”w x 6 1/2”d. I love how they bend the acrylic on the corners so it’s rounded. Price was $70 for the box and $10 for the lid plus shipping. Can’t beat that. Hope you’re satisfied with yours.

I was highly satisfied with how the overflow box and other contents were packaged. Below are photos of the overflow box and other contents.

I am thrilled with how well the external overflow box fits against the top trim of my 40-gallon breeder. It feels well-made, and I’m absolutely pleased with my decision at this point in time.

Good company that makes a good product. I like how the outside box is designed to sit higher than other manufacturers. This results in a quieter overflow. When they mess up they make it right.

Is the internal box removable? How does it attach to through-the-tank bulkheads?

The internal box is pressure fit into the bulkheads that are mounted on the tank. There are 2 short pipes that are cemented to the internal box/weir and they slip into the bulkheads without cement.

If you remove it when the tank is full, keep in mind that the water in the tank will drain down to the bottom of the bulkhead.

I don’t believe he has a phone number to call. He works through email only. It can take some time but is well worth the wait in my opinion.

Can schedule 80 bulkheads be use for through the tank application?

Does MM allow for that in custom configuration?

I wish there was a number to call, so that I can quickly get couple of things answered before finalizing my tank order.
