These, what I think are Mohawk Zia’s, are Starting to take over. I know I need to move some smaller zoas out of the way. But do I need to worry about them being hit by palytoxin? Lately they have been randomly closing up and I’m worried it may be these huge Mohawks…

From my experience Zoas can be very temperamental and they can close up and melt for number of known and unknown reasons. Some are salinity swings, maybe Alk and temp swing setc…

I don’t think they care about palytoxin because they contain it.

You can move them and see what happens.
They are fun corals but moody. I do love the short ones:

Right on. Thanks. Those yellow zoas really pop. Also like the maroon and orange coral to the right…
Something about these little orange/green ones I have. I think green flash zoas. They do well and re bud, then will kind of shrink some days.

Honestly sometimes I think Zoas are lot more unpredictable when compared to acros….

The yellow one is King Midas and the other coral is JF Sunset Stylocoeniella (really slow growing coral)
