It was just a joke [emoji6]
Assume everybody knows these are killers only, not reef animals. If you get one for a reef without research, you deserve what you get.
That's it exactly. Yes do your research, but when you're new to the hobby and the lfs or a seasoned veteran says 'yeah get this" you do consider it. The advice I received from a lfs was a goby/pistol shrimp pair.

Agreed, but with Internet available to all, there's zero excuse for not educating ones self on any species in the ocean and whether it's reefsafe. The days of saying "I was new and didn't know" is just no longer acceptable under any/all circumstances.

I have learned in the past 3 months since starting again, that the Internet is a Great source of knowledge. I consult it regularly.
I could tell by the tonality of the post that the shrimp comment was in jest...

And as far as "Gigantor" goes..

We have decided to set him up in his very own 2.5 gallon Pico Reef...

I have a GIANT emerald crab that I noticed would use his massive claws to try to snap at fish swimming by (he just wasn't very fast, so it wasn't much of a threat).

Now I put a piece of seaweed in daily and all my critters will come pick at it, then the big guy comes and attacks the seaweed and takes the whole thing. It seems to satisfy him though and he's so peaceful and chilled out now.

Cool pic!
