SPS newbie…

I received this piece as a Beach Bum monti, first pic is a month ago with original tan ish coloration, it is now entirely PINK. (see pics)

is this typical for a BB monti?
perhaps a different monti?
does the color change indicate anything?
Mainly curious and would love to hear insights thanks!

P.S. ignore the receding chalice, i dropped it face down on hard flooring, and it has been recovering fast since.

Looks healthy and I wouldnt worry about it, these types of montipora can change depending on intensity of tank lighting

yea not worried, just curious

so more intensity = darker colors less intensity = lighter colors? or completely random

Perhaps a little stressed when you first got it and now settled in and happy. It appears it is liking your setup.
