My orange Montipora has completely lost its color and is now starting to flake. It used to be colorful, but now it’s basically white and looks like the tissue is peeling or breaking down.

All my soft corals (toadstool, xenia, and Duncan) look great and fully open every day, so this seems to just be affecting the Monti. My parameters have been stable the past week or so:
• Alk: ~8.8
• Calcium: 440–460
• Magnesium: 1450–1500
• Nitrate: around 6–10 ppm
• Phosphate: 0.15–0.20 ppm
• Salinity: 1.025
• Temp: 78–79°F

I’m guessing it didn’t survive an earlier swing, but now that it’s flaking I’m not sure what to do — should I remove it completely or how do I go about removing it or saving it if possible. Any advice would help!!!

They don’t like swings. I have had them come back. Don’t know where they hide signs of life but I had one start growing after 4 months. Just a little spec at first. I would wondered what it was .
It can happen
