montipora coral

Is ok for 2 montipora corals touching each other ?
The orange montipora have slime on the edges where is touching other coral.

Doesn't look like they like each other.:) Not all montipora's like touching each other.

Slime or filaments usually indicates warfare. One way or another they should be separated.

A few things will happen:-

1) They stop growing towards each other and concentrate their energy growing somewhere else
2) The winner will grow upwards, loser stop growing
3) Both grows onto each other and become one (if they are the same species)
