I have the opportunity to get 2 hand caught, fully quarantined and eating Moorish idols.
I currently have a 265 gallon fowlr thank.
I have a great deal of live rock, structured with many caves and swim through openings.
Current inhabitants are two 1 1/2 inch flame angels, 3 3inch yellow tangs, one 5 inch hybrid powder blue tang and a 3 inch Blueface angel.
I have 40+ years in the hobby. I know I can easily handle one idle. The question becomes what are folks opinions, and or experiences with two idols in this type of tank.

Not sure how they go in pairs, but i do know that you will have to introduce them to the tangs (especially the powder) very cautiously.

Depends on the fish but if they don't like each other it will be a real battle.

If you do make sure you have an exit plan to remove one of them.

High risk IMO.

They are difficult to keep in pairs or groups due to conspecific aggression.

Maybe a true bonded pair.

With the tangs already being sub adult/adult I would introduce just one, and do it cautiously. Have a backup tank ready in case they do not get along at first and you need to separate.
