i'm going to have to go with harry potter being the biggest also....the previews look really good, and its been anticipated for a long time.

btw.....is the order of the pheonix the second to last one? what is the last book called?

i have transformers and the simpsons movie coming in a close 2nd in my book.

pirates was OK...but obviously didnt live up to all of the hype.

Im a dork too...Transformers looks dope!. Knocked Up was pretty funny but kinda chick flickish. Anybody gonna see Hostel 2? The first one was crazy, hopefully the second one is too.

There is a new one with Will Smith coming out in OCt/Nov called "I am Legend" That will be a must see. I have read the book and have the graphic novels, great story.

Harry Potter - 'nuff said (BTW the last book is called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - comes out July 21st)

Pirates 3 was good
Shrek 3 was at least funnier than Shrek 2
Oceans 13 was better than Oceans 12
Spiderman 3 was the worst movie this summer so far (too much crying)
Die Hard 4 looks lame
Rush Hour 3 should be good - but it won't do Harry Potter numbers

lol!! I was drinking gatorade when I saw this picture and I laughed so hard it came out my nose :lol:

I chose Harry Potter because I loved the book and cannot wait to see how it is portrayed on film. After this book there was "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" I believe and then as argent said "Harry Potter and the deathly hollows" which comes out in July.
I'm not all that excited about Transformers but then I wasn't really into the cartoon as a child. I think it appealed more to boys than girls so that's probably why.

I'm so excited about the Harry Potter movie.....like Eco, I'm always eager to see how they turn out on film. I never would have thought Goblet of Fire would come out so good but they did a great job with the effects. I can't wait to see how that chapter in the halls is done.....if done well it has the potential to be a crazy good action sequence. Shots firing from all directions (with wands of course), bodies flying, furniture breaking, blood......I'm hoping it will be shown as a pretty hard core fight scene.

i think harry potter will be bigger b/c it attracts a younger, and more diverse fan base.

correct - Transformers has not been rated yet - and I think you're right Harry Potter will get all the kids, the moms and dads going to it - while Transformers will really only get the Comicon Conventioneers :P

I think you're pretty off with that last statement. My young nephews know what Transformers are, as does my 65 year old father. If they do it right Transformers could be a classic action film, the Harry Potter Film will be just another mediocre attempt to satisfy the masses that read the mediocre books. Sorry to come off as harsh, but the adults that read the Potter books yet have never read a Tolkien book and multiple other classic fantasy books make me ill.

I tell you what, for a movie to see RIGHT now I would go see Knocked Up. My girlfriend was dying to see it so I took her, I did not anticipate anything great for this movie. But I laughed my butt off... it is a really funny movie, granted I am college student (fairly easily entertained) it was worth the money...

thats good to know! i heard them talking about it on the today show in the morning a couple days ago, sounded pretty funny

my g/f was going to drag me to see it with her friends....i figured it was some chic flick i would moan and groan about having to go see...lol
